  1. great stout 5 Star Review

I had to write a review on this...i let this sit in the secondary for an additional 2 weeks (had no keezer room) and conditioned it for another week under 12 PSI then to 4 PSI when it was ready, it poured a beautiful thick frothy chocolately head, and was almost unstoppable to going back for another and another pint. we all couldnt stop. definetely buying again. may add something more for a thicker mouthfeel next brew. or honestly i screwed up the water somehow.

My first time was a great success, I'll know about this brew in 4 weeks, expecting nothing less than better than the first.

  5. Now that is a sout 5 Star Review

My first homebrewed beer and got to say, it is a excellent Stout. Great texture and taste to it. Was patient, waiting for it to be ready. When opening a bottle, has to be poured in seconds, else the foam it coming out fast and furious.

  6. Holy Cow Wow 5 Star Review

Making this brew was fairly simple and I ended up with nearly the save gravity as expected. After oxygenating the wort, primary fermentation took place @ 63F, and a massive blowout happened the next day. Fermentation was very vigorous.
I've had a couple of these at just over a week after bottling and already they are delicious. Very nice, sweet, coffee and chocolate notes, with a hint of cocoa bitterness. IBU is very low, and it's so dark that it seems to bend space time and prevent light from escaping its grasp.
I have very high hopes for this once it ages a bit. It's an absolute must try for the stout lover. I don't believe it will last long.

  7. Holy cow where did I go wrong? 3 Star Review

I bought this beer with high hopes. To be honest the brew day for this beer was a nightmare. Like tipping night on the farm and your the cow..... Perhaps it's my fussy tastes when it comes to stouts or maybe I came down with Bovine spongiform encephalopathy and that's what was the problem. I'll be honest there is a good chance I dropped the ball on brew day, but regardless I wasn't overly impressed with the end result. The beer did seem to lack a lot of flavor and the appropriate mouth feel; which may have more to do with the fact I used CO2 instead of Nitrogen when kegging. I had really high hopes for this beer. I think my largest problem was the lack of aroma and bittering due to such a small amount of hops and or the hop variety selected. The malt flavor just didn't seem to be very appealing either. I cannot say this was a terrible beer, because it wasn't. When you compare to other kit's I have tried from Beer grains, this one is just average by comparison and lacks much of what I expect from a craft beer.
