My first AG batch - love it!

This kit was my first AG batch, and its very good!
Don't expect a "Sleeman"-type Honey Brown (Lager), this is much heavier, darker and tastier.
I personally added 0.5oz of Willamette Hops to my boil to add a tiny bit of bitterness, but I'm sure it would have been great without it.
I recommend to let this age at least a month once bottled to get the right taste...
Mutton Chops and Honey?

I'm the kind of guy who will try anything once. Even in dark times I've tried dark things I dare not repeat.... Like Mutton Chop Honey Brown. It was dark like uncle Angus' soulless mutton chops. Now to be clear, this is a rather biased opinion and based mainly on personal preference than the quality of the product. As always Beer Grains came through with quality ingredients, fast shipping, great prices, and well written instructions, that and Jason Koebel is a pretty stellar dude from my experiences with this company. Anyways, the show must go on! Back on track, I'm not a fan of honey brown ales period. At the time this was the last item on the site I had not tried yet so, like a good sport I pulled up my panties and grew what sorry patchy excuse of mutton chops I could; and like the disappointing look in uncle Angus' eyes when he saw my sad excuse for facial hair I too had a similar expression as I stared at my bottle of honey brown. I am being a little over dramatic here, but I take beer seriously. This is still better than any buttweiser, or cooers S@!t and I would drink it with a smile over such atrocities any day. However, when it comes to craft beer this one seems to lack soul and personality kind of like uncle Angus and his lazy eye. If you are new to this site don't buy this beer because Beer Grains has some amazing kits that blow this one away. Seriously, Moose Factory IPA, Mad Trapper Double IPA, Tank House Clone, and Jeff's Bees Knees buy one of those!
