Good Beer poor yeast
Posted by Mark B on 5th Jan 2016
The brew day went good. I nailed my OG of 1.053. The poor Windsor yeast though left my porter at 1.020 instead of around 1.015. Should I have paid extra for different yeast? probably, but i digress
The beer itself is really good, a bit sweet (under attenuation) but overall the flavour is really good.
[Beer Grains] Thanks for the great feedback Mark! I'm sorry to hear about the under attenuation problem. Windsor yeast doesn't normally leave that beer under attenuated so that's interesting. Did it take off quickly or was there a lag? The yeast should have been quite young and lively. I'd be interested to hear more about it. Thanks again for the feedback!

Hadn't brewed in a long time, was an easy way to get back into the craft. Hop bitterness seems a little light for style (could be the fact that I didn't have a big enough pot for a full boil, reducing hop utilization), but perhaps that's just me, everyone who has tried it enjoys it.
