Lactose - 454g

Brewers use lactose to add sweetness and a thicker mouthfeel to beers. Lactose is a sugar that that is not fermentable by beer yeasts. Lactose is primarily used in stouts. This sugar will sweeten the flavour profile that complement the malt and chocolate notes. In the last several years it’s been added to other styles of beer also. Juicy / Hazy IPAs sometimes have lactose as a means to give the flavour profiles a fruit juice or milkshake quality.  Non-alcoholic beers may also contain some lactose in order to increase the mouthfeel.
